2026-2027 CAFETERIA INFORMATION AND POLICIES
Just a reminder Curwensville Area School District participates in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). This program is available to schools and districts that are participating in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs.
No further action is required of you. Your child(ren) will be able to participate in these meal programs without paying a fee or submitting an application.
The food and beverages we serve at both schools meet the state and federal requirements, which are based on the USDA Dietary Guidelines and Smart Snack guidelines.
MEAL ACCOUNT DEPOSITS
Deposits may be made by sending cash or a check (payable to CASD CAFÉ) to school with your student; all money is carried over to the next year (money would be for a la carte purchases or prior debt).
The on-line system, School Café, can be easily set up and used to receive low balance notices, monitor student spending and make deposits to their accounts. If you need your student’s ID or further instructions, please contact the school.

STUDENT ACCOUNTS
The student’s six-digit District ID is also used for their breakfast/lunch ID for all cafeteria deposits and purchases.
Parents may submit in writing, a request that their son/daughter is not permitted to purchase a la carte items. Please contact the Cafeteria Manager with questions or concerns.
SPECIAL DIETARY NEEDS
Schools participating in a federal Child Nutrition Program are required to make accommodations for children who are unable to eat school meals because of a disability* that restricts their diet.
In order to make substitutions or modifications to the school meals, the school must have a completed plan of care form on file signed by a physician, PA, CRNP, dentist or registered dietitian.

All special dietary considerations must be requested each year.
PRICING INFORMATION
SY 2026-2027 meal prices are as follows:
Breakfast – One Complete meal is Free
Lunch – One Complete meal is Free
The daily breakfast consists of at least 3-4 components and a student must choose at least 3 components, one of which must be a fruit/veg for it to be credited as a meal.
The daily lunch consists of 5 components and a student must choose at least 3 components, one of which must be a fruit or a vegetable for it to be credited as a meal.
Our meal service, breakfast and lunch, is OVS (Offer versus Serve). This serving style allows students to decline items they do not prefer to eat.
They, however, must take a fruit or a vegetable every day at each meal.
They are not required to take a milk.
Growing Together with IU10 Continues!
We continue to use the grow tower when it is available. This summer we are trying some new items such as tomatoes, peppers, strawberries, and some different lettuce varieties.
We are excited to see what the new year brings for our students and Rustic Ridge Farm. "The Farm" an educational project in conjunction with the YMCA of Centre County and CenClear has many opportunities for students of all ages. Visiting "The Farm" offers a moment of pause and reflection; reminding us that our food comes from the earth. Teaching our students and families about healthy eating habits is a benefit for everyone!
