CORONA VIRUS UPDATE MARCH 14

CORONA VIRUS UPDATE MARCH 14 Dear Curwensville Community:

This afternoon, Governor Wolf made the serious decision to close all K-12 school districts starting Monday, March 16, 2020 for a period of 10 business days in response to the Covid-19 Coronavirus. Effective Monday March 16, the Curwensville Area School District will be closed through Friday March 27th. During this time no community use of the school facilities will be permitted or before or after school activities.

School personnel and students are prohibited from entering school facilities; however, a limited number of essential staff will be available to perform essential functions.

Here are a few other items that we would like to share, with likely additional information coming to you at a later time:

We are expect to be able to provide school lunches to the community during the period we are closed and will be giving this information on Monday, March 16th.

It is uncertain at this time, absent clear direction from the Commonwealth, about the status of these days and whether they will need to be made up in the future. As we learn more, we will continue to update you with a revised calendar.

Please trust that we will do our best to keep everyone informed as new and additional information is received. Thank you, stay safe, and know that we will move beyond this unprecedented time. Sincerely,

Ronald Matchock District Superintendent
