🏔️ FROM CURWENSVILLE TO THE ALASKAN WILDERNESS🏔️
Sometimes our students’ paths after graduation take them farther than we ever could have imagined. In this case, all the way to the remote wilderness of Alaska.
Curwensville graduates Phin Mileski and Cooper Bowman have traded Pennsylvania’s mountains for Alaska’s, working at Rainy Pass Lodge, a remote hunting lodge accessible only by bush plane.
Cooper has spent the past three years at the lodge, with Phin joining him two years ago. Now, both young men have reached an incredible milestone: becoming certified Alaskan hunting guides.
Their work takes them into a world very different from the one they grew up in. One filled with bush planes, remote wilderness, wildlife, and adventures few people will ever experience.
Phin has even begun sharing those experiences through "The Wild Connection," a podcast where he talks about life and adventures as a wilderness guide.
Rainy Pass Lodge has its own remarkable history, too. Located northwest of Anchorage, the lodge has been part of the Alaskan wilderness for generations and serves as a checkpoint along the famous Iditarod Trail.
It’s pretty incredible to think that just a few years ago, Phin and Cooper were walking the halls of Curwensville and today, they are guiding adventures in the Alaskan wilderness.
We love seeing where life takes our graduates, and we couldn’t resist sharing this one.
From Curwensville, Pennsylvania, to the wilds of Alaska. Once a Golden Tide, always a Golden Tide. 💛🖤
Congratulations, Phin and Cooper! Your hometown is proud to see the incredible adventure you’ve created for yourselves.
Thank you Mrs. Bietz for sharing this story.
