Recently Received Scholarship Information: Two resource guides recently received (12/09/11) by the Guidance Department: -- The American Legion: Money for College "Need A Lift?" CD -- The "Need A Lift?" CD contains information on federal and state veterans benefits; scholarships for veterans and their dependents, Legionnaires and their family members ; tips for applying to college and applying for financial assistance. -- The 2012 Masonic Scholarship Resource Guide -- This guide lists scholarship, grant, and loan opportunitites primarily for Masons, their siblings, children, grandchildren and members on the Masonic-related youth groups. The Guidance Dept. has a paper copy of this guide however the complete guide can also be found on the internet at www.pmyf.org. {CAHS Specific} Scholarship: Robert Ferguson Post 842 V.F.W. Scholarship e. A listing, with a short description, of experiences of community service including church activities. f. Write your name on the back of a small photograph and attach to the application. g. Write or type a letter so that we can become acquainted with you. Please include why you want to further your education, and what you expect from college. Application Deadline: Application must be postmarked no later than May 4, 2012. Application Procedures: -- Paper applications are available in the CAHS Guidance Office. Scholarship: Bryan Gregory Ennis Memorial Scholarship Amount: Three $1000 awards will be given. Application Guidelines: -- Applicants must be a 2012 high school graduate and planning to continue their education at a college, university, trade, or technical school beginning in the Summer or Fall 2012 semesters. -- Applicants must show proof of college tuition payment to receive scholarship award. -- Awards will awarded based on academic performance, grade point average, high school and community/church activities, goals/aspirations, and recommendation letters. Incomplete applications will not be considered. -- Two letters of recommendation must accompany the application (one by a school professional and one by your clergy or community leader). Application Deadline: All completed applications and supporting documentation must be received by Friday, May 25, 2012.
